Phonological Awareness Skills Test (P.A.S.T.)
Professional Development Institute, Inc. (2001)
This assessment assesses all skills under the phonemic awareness umbrella.  Students are asked to do several tasks with sounds in a word. The assessment includes sentence segmenting, rhyme recognition, rhyme production, rhyme completion, syllable blending, syllable segmentation, syllable deletion, phoneme isolation of initial sounds, phoneme isolation of final sounds, phoneme blending onset and rime, phoneme blending, phoneme segmentation, phoneme deletion of initial and final sounds, adding phonemes, and phoneme substitution. This assessment may be given along with the Literacy First Phonics Assessment.
Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing-Second Edition (CTOPP)
ProEd (2013)
The Comprehensive Test of Phonological is used in determining phonological processing strengths and weaknesses as a prerequisite to reading.  It evaluates the phonological processing used in reading fluency. The assessment can be used to identify those students who are well below their peers, determine strengths and weaknesses in phonological processing, document progress as the phonological processing develops and provide data for research. The assessment may be administered to students 4-24 years of age.

Test of Phonological Awareness- Second Edition (TOPA-2+)
ProEd (2004)
The Test of Phonological Awareness is used in Early Elementary. Two subtests are given where students are shown an initial picture and then others. The task in the Kindergarten version requires students to select the picture with the same sound as the first picture or select a picture with a different sound as the first picture. The task in the Early Elementary version requires students to select the picture with the same or different ending sound as the initial picture. This assessment aides in determining the need for supplementary or intensive instruction.

Test of Early Reading Ability-Third Edition (TERA-3)
ProEd (2001)
The Test of Early Reading Ability assesses students mastery of early reading skills rather than reading "readiness."  The assessment contains three subtests, alphabet, conventions and meaning. Alphabet measures the knowledge of the alphabet and its use, conventions measure the use of conventions in print, and meaning measures the construction of meaning from a text. The assessment may be used to identify students who are well below their peers, determine strengths and weaknesses with print knowledge, document progress as skills develop and provide documentation for research purposes.
